The Bits Krieg is a boss that was added on March 2, 2019.
Design[]
Bits Krieg has a gray square base with an auto-turret on top and two turrets on its sides. The auto-turret on top is, in fact, just a Machine Gun auto-turret but has a square base with three expanding rectangular segments instead of a barrel. Its two turrets on the sides are just Trapper turrets but are divided into three rectangular segments - a base, barrel, and flange. The base is wide, the barrel is longer and slightly thinner, and the flange is smaller than the base.
Technical[]
Bits Krieg has a medium speed and health. Its trapper turrets shoot strong traps, which have high health and damage but do not help the boss much. Its auto-turret has a high rate of fire, bullet speed, and damage but a somewhat low penetration.
Spawning[]
Currently does not spawn.
Countering[]
Bits Krieg has low firepower, but can still kill unaware players pretty fast. Its bullets have high speed and can deal high damage to the tanks with a low rate of fire, but tanks with a high rate of fire and decent penetration will easily kill the Bits Krieg. You will be able to easily out-penetrate Bits Krieg, as it has low penetration. You can also speed up the process by moving in a left-right pattern, and the boss will fall even faster.
If you are a drone tank or Builder branch tank, you will still be able to kill Bits Krieg easily. Since it has medium speed, you can just lure the boss over a rock and start shooting at it. Trapper and drone tanks will take some time but will be able to kill Bits Krieg if they guide their ammunition around the rock. Traps have high health but low penetration, so you will still deal high damage.
Trivia[]
- If Bits Krieg will be controlled by a player, its base will be colored the team of the player. For example, if player-controlled Bits Krieg will spawn on the purple team, its base will be purple.
- Bits Krieg was originally added as a joke boss.
- Bits Krieg is likely based on the Blitzkrieg (Tank), as its general bodyplan and ammunition resembles that of the Blitzkrieg. Its name is a pun, as "bits" often refer to 8-bit graphics, and the boss has no tapering barrels which is something one would expect to find in an 8-bit artstyle.
