Poison is an effect that slowly drains a tank's health. It can be used in conjunction with normal damage to kill tanks. It is present with several tanks and shapes, and even on a few hostile shapes and bosses.

History[]

Internal support for poison was added on 26 May 2019. The poison was buggy at first, and could kill entities for less experience gain. However, this was removed on 14 January 2020. Green shapes were given the poison effect on 21 April 2020. The PS3_33 (also known as the Green Guardian) and the PS3_33 Lite (also known as the Green Guardian Lite) have had poison abilities since their addition.

Mechanics[]

Poison damage inflicts a certain amount of damage per second (DPS) for a certain amount of time (2 - 10 seconds depending on the entity). Tanks such as Kevlar and Steelix are immune to poison as well as other effects. All such tanks can be found under the Debuff Immune Tanks category. The damage per second is proportional to the total health of the tank. The poison effect no longer works once a player's or AI's health dips below a certain amount of health, effectively stopping it from being fatal.

Strategy[]

The poison effect can be very useful. It can bring down the health of an enemy very quickly, causing them to retreat or be killed. Strafing attacks with bullet tanks such as Acid can deal significant damage and prolong the poison effect. Poison is good to use against dominators and bosses, as their immense health is quickly taken down by even a few bullets.
